DCC Neighbourhoods Environmental Competition

Once again DERA has 5 entries in the Dublin City Council Neighbourhoods Competition for this summer’s judging which takes place in June. We ask all residents to support our entry by helping in every way to attend to our local environment, with special attention to grass verges, plants, flowers and the protection of trees and green spaces in our estate. You can help by removing litter (always use gloves) and encouraging children and visitors to take a special interest in our environment. Last year DERA received 7 awards, including one citywide award, presented by the Lord Mayor of Dublin. Judging in our community takes place during June and July. Volunteers are always welcome to join the Environmental Team – please contact us for more information.

PS. You may have noticed that DCC have installed a “talking lamp-post” in Donaghmede Park to remind dog owners of the part they can play in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all.

Have your say – we want to hear from you!

Dublin City Council is rolling out a Local Environmental Improvement Plan Consultation for the Donaghmede Area. With this in mind, they are making a questionnaire available on the Dublin City Council website from today.

Click here to access the questionnaire in English or click here for the Irish version.

Additionally, hard copies will be available from Wednesday 17th February from the Public Library in Donaghmede, and from the DCC public counter located on the 2nd Floor of the Northside Civic Centre on Bunratty Road, Coolock between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Representatives of Dublin City Council will be in Donaghmede Shopping Centre on Wednesday 17th February and Thursday 18th February from 10.30am to 12.30pm and also on Saturday, 20th February from 12.00pm to 2.00pm to answer your questions and collect completed surveys.

Completed surveys can also be returned to the Donaghmede Public Library or the public counter in the Northside Civic Centre, Bunratty Road, Coolock.

DERA encourages you to take part in the consultation: don’t miss this chance to have your say!
