Donaghmede Literary Festival

The inaugural Donaghmede Literary Festival takes place from 26th – 28th September 2019, in various locations in the Donaghmede Shopping Centre. The festival is sponsored in full by the Donaghmede Shopping Centre and supported by the local library, book stores and residents’ committee. Many wonderful local authors have pledged their support, including Roddy Doyle and Sheila O’Flanagan.

Festival Events Programme

Garda Band Annual Concert – Donaghmede Shopping Centre – Thursday 18th July at 6.15pm

Trinity Credit Union are supporting our Festival Events again this year and will have a special promotion with generous prizes to be won in a free draw at our Garda Band Concert. Trinity Credit Union is a wonderful asset to our community, having served us well for over 45 years, and are deserving of our continued support.

Family Fun Day – Donaghmede DCC Park – Sunday 21st July at 2pm

All the usual attractions including games for children, Irish Dance Troupe (to be confirmed), Paul Bermingham & his Rock Band accompanied by local musician Ronan Byrne.

Parents and guardians must supervise their children and those in their care at all times; this is not a responsibility of DERA volunteers, and applies to all activities on the day. This is strictly a No Alcohol Event. Please dispose of all litter responsibly. Events will conclude by 5pm. Safety first should be your motto!

We need volunteers for Festival Fun Day preparations on Sunday morning and throughout the day, including tidy-up afterwards. To volunteer, please contact any of the DERA Commmittee.

Senior Citizens’ Mystery Tour Day Out – Wednesday 24th July

This event is booked out. Tickets will be distributed from Saturday 20th July, including details for the day. The itinerary will be issued on the day of travel. Please let us know in advance if you cannot travel. Information for the Day Out will be available at the DERA table upstairs in Donaghmede Shopping Centre from 1pm to 3pm on Friday 19th July and from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday 20th July.

DERA, now in its 48th year, thanks all those in our community who in any way contribute to the continued success of our Association by way of volunteering, financial support, expertise and good will.
